A-2
US Army Air Force, Black Horsehide
The
A-2 Air Force jacket was only awarded to an Army Air Forces officer
upon completion of basic flight training,
In our replica we included
red satin lining. During WW2 red lined jackets were only given to
Aces which had confirmed
their fifth aerial victory, making this a
special distinction. We also placed the AAF emblem on the left
shoulder, as was
custom to the original Air Force A-2 jacket. The
design was originally issued in a wide range of color tones and
hues,
ours is in black made from argentinian horsehide. The actual
design would vary slightly, depending on the contract and
manufacturer.
