Untitled DocumentPea Coat- US Navy
The history of the Pea Coat goes
back to the 1800s and at that time was worn by the Dutch. The name
pea coat comes from the Dutch word “pije” which was used to
describe coarse wool fabricc. In the 1850´s it was then the Royal
British Navy who designed their version of the Pea Coat for petty
officers. After that it made its way across the Atlantic where The
U.S. Navy adopted this style of jacket.
