It took us more than 2 years to
complete the authentic replica of the leather jacket worn exclusively
by the commanders and officers of the Deutsche Kriegsmarine (German
Navy) U-Boot Waffe.
During WW2 from 1939-1945 these submarines were
mainly deployed in harsh weather conditions in the Atlantic and
Biscayan
Sea.
It was our goal to keep
the jacket as authentic as possible using the best quailty materials
available. Our U-Boot coat is made from 100% soft steerhide,
lined
with a warm inner fleece and is complete with storm cuffs within the
sleeves for extra wind protection.
The buttons on the jacket are 100%
Metal Kriegsmarine which have
the orignal anchor featured, they also have a
counter button on the inside for more stabilty.
Behind the collar we
have also included the RZM stitching
identical to the original.
The
U-Boot Coat was worn by top guns such as Erich Topp (the red devil),
Adalbert Schnee, Guenter Priem (the bull from Scapa Flow)
and
decorated commander, Heinrich "AJAX" Bleichrodt. Today
original WW2 German Navy jackets are extremly hard to come by they
are often in bad condition and very expensive.

After much research, I determined that this coat was the most faithful reproduction of the original wartime coats, so I ordered one in XXL size. It arrived quickly in the USA. Although it was a great coat it was too tight across the shoulders. However, my son, who is smaller than me, really liked the coat and it fit him well, so I gave him the coat and ordered another one in 3XL. It also arrived in the USA quickly, but it too was too tight. I returned it and asked for a 5XL, and it too arrived quickly and was a good fit. Absolutely first rate, excellent customer service, and a coat that represents a piece of history and which is truly a top quality, heirloom object that one day will be handed down in the family. And now my family will have two of them!

Hello, I am Luis from Spain and I have been wearing everyday my black Submarine Coat for about the last 2 months, in any type of weather being it freezing and/or rainy.
I have naturally to say that I am very satisfied with the quality of the Garment, leather material and precise robust construction (which is holding very well) as well as the excelent costumer service provided relentlessly by Miriam in order to help me in my adequate size selection. Being 1.80m tall with a 110cm chest, I have finally ended up with an XL whichs fits me great.
It is worth to mention as well the whole flawless logistic process of returning back the initial XXL size I have initially bought. It went perfect.
Ultimately I feel that my black submarine coat rather than a replica, looks and feels very authentic and truly as an original coat back from those old days of the WW2.
If chance arises again, I will surely come back to Noble House in the future.

Amazing jacket in all aspects. Impressed with the quality and detail. Heavy, thick and elegant at the same time. You can ware just a t-shirt in cold weather. People just look at the jacket wherever you go. When you show the details, the lable, serial number etc every friend gets amazed. I love NH jackets. In fact I bought another one (Top Gun). I absolutely love this coat. The quality is amazing, with a great attention to detail. The coat appears tight when you first purchase it, but don’t let this fool you, leather expands with usage and will turn itself into an excellent fit.
I normally don’t buy clothing via the internet, as I like to try things on before purchasing. And I admit I was a little scared after placing the order, but in my experience of trying coats on, this was a great purchase / fit sight unseen.
The coat works well in cold weather, have worn it in -10c without freezing.
The only down side I have is, the breast buttons don’t exactly align, they are slightly off center. But this may depend on your body size.
I did have a problem with shipping, but this was due to the local branch of the delivery company used. However, whenever I called or wrote Noble House to inquiry about my package, the staff was very professional, and even provided the number to the local branch of the delivery company so I could contact them directly.

Superb garment; my sons are already fighting over its inheritance when I'm gone!
Despite having to exchange for a larger size (I doubt my shoulders could pass down a conning-tower), the total turn-around was less than 14 days.
I'll have to seek out another Noble-House product to bequeath to the other boy!

I ordered the U-boat coat based solely on the photos and descriptions on the website. Ordering was a friendly painless experience and due to custom manufacture required due to my "larger" build I was expecting to receive it within 7 weeks. I was very surprised when it arrived at my house a little over 3 weeks after ordering. I am flabbergasted that this much quality and attention to detail can be built in to a coat with this cost, it really looks and feels like a coat you would be happy to pay 3 times the price for. The leather is thick with a soft supply feel, almost waxy, the stitching spot on and the lining which is usually a neglected area is fault free and doesn't sag

Got my U-boat Marine Coat a short while back - very impressed! The hide is very high quality and looks like it will stand the test of time. A colleague asked "What had I got in the pockets" it was so heavy to pick up. I replied "nothing but I think the horns had been left in!" A very solid and strong construction for an amazing price.

I received my U-Boat Marine Coat (in black) today. WOW! I couldn't be happier. The leather is thick yet supple and the quality of the garment is top-notch. As the other reviews stated, order one size larger than you normally wear. I'm 6'0", 180 lbs. and typically wear a size Large. I ordered a size XL and it fits perfectly.

Beautifully crafted. Product quality is near perfect. However, better take measurements and compare on the chart before ordering because they don't use the same standards for coat size as we do in N-America.
I usually wear XL size garment. I ordered a "XXL" and it is still to tight around the armpit. Returning the coat for exchange for a larger size is not really practical because freight or transport cost are prohibitive.

The lining is the only thing I would alter. Changing it to a softer leather or Merino wool would add more class than the dog hair absorbing blue fleece. But then there is the fact that I have two Golden Retrievers. They might be the only reason to prejudice this review. I love this coat!

The coat arrived quickly but that's the only good thing about it. It looked as if there was a different coat from the one on Noble House excellent pictures and descriptions: leather quality was mediocre, it smelled like a chemical factory, buttons looked cheap, button rows were too close to each other and that looked funny. All in all, the coat looked like and felt like a piece of leather made in Turkey that can be bought in any shop around the world. It was as far from a German U-boot coat as Mickey Mouse from a mariner of the Third Reich.
Therefore I returned it. The refund came a week later. However, it's been more than a month since I've sent it back and Noble House hasn't refunded me the postage, although they promised to do so. So much for the noble.

Although the U-boat coat didn't arrive until after New Year's Day, it was worth the wait. The quality of the leather by itself is far better than I expected. I would definitely order another coat from them again in the future. To sum it up into the immortal words of C. Montgomery Burns (translate into German)..... ausgezeichnet.

Very nice jacket indeed, i bought mine this outumn and dubbed it carefully. I have tested it in all weatherconditions from rain to -26 dgr celcius and it stays soft,warm and dry. in very cold weather use icelander and scarf :)

However, I just noticed to my surprise that there are a difference on my coat in the way the lowest row of buttons are placed. The ones you produce now seems to have this altering.
In the pictures here, and in your Ebayshop the lowest button row is in level with the lower pockets, which is correct if I compare with old WW2 photos. It also looks more stylish and give more space to move. Seems that something happened along the way? Please rethink this detail..
I might be nitpicking, but on such a fine garment I think the last detail counts.

I just received my U-Boat Marine Coat and this coat is an incredible piece of workmanship. It really is built to take on the north Atlantic, perfectly suited for very cold winter weather.
